What is in this house

Written plainly, including what is not here.

A long terrace facing the field

Six metres, two rattan chairs and one long table. Morning coffee is served here at seven, free, and you are welcome to sit until noon.

Shared kitchen

Two burners, a fridge, a rice cooker, and basic spices. Cook whenever you like. The nearest warung is a four minute walk.

Fish pond and garden

Water spinach, chilli, and lime leaves out back. Whatever goes into breakfast is picked from here that morning.

What is not here

No swimming pool, no lift, and no air conditioning in the two upstairs rooms. The wind off the field is usually enough, but we say so in advance.

Usually asked before booking

Can a car reach it?

A car stops at the main road, then it is a 120 metre walk on a lit concrete path. We carry the bags if you tell us your arrival time.

Is there air conditioning?

In the two lower rooms, yes. The two upstairs rooms have ceiling fans only, and Ubud nights are usually cool enough. We say so up front so it is not a surprise.

What is breakfast?

Fried rice or banana pancakes, coffee or tea, fruit from the garden. Tell us about allergies or no meat the evening before.

Does it suit a family with children?

It does. Lower room two sleeps three, and we have one cot at no charge. The fish pond has no fence, so small children need watching.

What if we cancel?

Free until three days before. Later than that we charge one night, because the room has usually been turned down for someone else.
