The bench, and what it costs

Every price below already includes the mainspring, the gaskets, the lubricants, and seven days of regulation.

Full service, three hand movement

Rp2,800,000, 18 working days. Stripped to the last part, washed through three baths, mainspring and every gasket replaced, lubricated, then regulated for seven days in five positions. The calibres that come in most: ETA 2824 2, Sellita SW200 1, Miyota 9015, and Seiko NH35.

Chronograph service

Rp5,600,000, 28 working days, for the Valjoux 7750 and column wheel calibres like it. If a part has to come from Switzerland, that adds 6 to 10 weeks, and we tell you before the movement is opened, not after.

Pressure test and gasket change

Rp450,000, done the same day if the watch reaches us before 15.00. A dry test and a wet test to 10 bar, and the result is printed even when your watch passes.

What we do not do

We neither sell nor service quartz watches, we do not touch tourbillons or perpetual calendars because this bench has neither the tools nor the hours on them, and we do not polish a case without a written request.

Three limits it has to pass before we sign

Five stages at the bench, and the number each one produces

  1. Timegrapher before anything is opened

Rate, amplitude, and beat error are logged in five positions before a single screw comes out. You get that printout before agreeing to any cost, and if the movement turns out to be healthy we say so and you go home without paying.

  2. Strip and wash

The movement is taken down to the last part, the barrel included, then washed through three baths in sequence. Anything worn is photographed and the photograph goes to the owner the same day.

  3. Replace what is worn

Most often the mainspring, a loose bushing, and every gasket. If a part has to come from our supplier in Britain or the agent in Singapore, the work stops and you decide.

  4. Assemble and lubricate

Moebius 9010 on the fast pivots, HP 1300 on the slow ones, and 9501 grease where parts rub. The quantity is recorded on the worksheet, because too much lubricant does as much damage as too little.

  5. Seven days of regulation

The watch is regulated in five positions over seven full days, not overnight. The service card you receive carries the final amplitude, beat error, and rate, and the 24 month warranty runs from that date.

The timegrapher printout came before I approved the cost, all five positions on it. Elsewhere I was given one total figure.Seiko NH35 owner, serviced 2025

What people ask at the bench

When does a mechanical watch need a service?

Every five years, or sooner if the power reserve drops below 30 hours, the rate shifts by more than 15 seconds a day, or there is condensation behind the crystal. If the timegrapher shows everything is still healthy, we say so and you go home without paying.

What does a full service cost?

Rp2,800,000 for a three hand movement and Rp5,600,000 for a chronograph, including the mainspring, gaskets, lubricants, and seven days of regulation. Any other part that needs replacing is quoted first, never simply fitted.

How long will my watch be here?

Eighteen working days for a three hander and 28 working days for a chronograph. If a part has to come from Switzerland, that adds 6 to 10 weeks, and you are told before the movement is opened.

What figures do you guarantee after a service?

Amplitude of at least 270 degrees dial flat and 250 degrees vertical, measured 24 hours after a full wind, a beat error under 0.4 milliseconds, and a rate between minus 4 and plus 6 seconds a day averaged over five positions. All three are written on the service card.

How does the warranty work?

A service carries 24 months. A new watch carries its factory warranty plus five years from us. A pre owned watch carries 12 months after passing the 38 point check, and the check sheet travels in the box.

Do you polish cases?

Only if you ask for it in writing on the service card. Every polish takes off a few microns and softens the original edges, and an original edge cannot be put back. Since 2016 not one case has been polished without that request.
