Light first, then form
Product films, motion identities and architectural animation. Every one of them starts with one question: where is the light coming from.
Four pieces of work, and what they were for
Motion identity for a short film festival
A mark built from the light that falls through a gap in a door, in twelve durations from a cinema screen to an Instagram story.
Used three years running without a redesign. The delivery package is 2.4 GB, silent versions included.
A 15 second film for a bottled iced coffee
One bottle, one spoonful of ice and morning light. The client wanted it real, and there was no budget for a shoot day.
Entirely rendered in 3D, 360 frames, three days on two graphics cards. One colour revision, no revisions to form.
A growing house in Bantul
An animation for an architecture practice: a 36 square metre house that adds rooms as the family living in it grows.
A 90 second film the practice uses to explain the design to the families who will live there, not to win awards.
An earthquake film for primary schools
Three minutes on what to do in an earthquake, without words, for children who cannot read well yet.
Used in 40 schools in Bantul and Klaten. Made unpaid, with two volunteers.
