Kamar Ombak
Rp2,850,000 a night

A 200 by 200 bed, a half open bathroom with a frangipani growing inside it, and air conditioning we switch on only when asked because the afternoon wind is usually enough. Full sun from 15.30, and from February to April that is genuinely hot until 17.00.
Kamar Karang
Rp2,150,000 a night
Twenty nine square metres.
Kamar Kebun
Rp1,750,000 a night
Twenty four square metres with no sea view at all.
What the price already includes
And a last line about what is not here at all.
Breakfast cooked, two choices that change
07.30 to 10.00 at the long table by the pool. Two dishes a day, one rice and one not, written on the board the night before. If there is something you do not eat, say so when you book, not that morning.
One airport transfer
Fifty five minutes from Ngurah Rai on a clear road, ninety between 16.00 and 19.00. One free transfer per stay, either direction. A second run is Rp350,000.
Three surfboards and two bicycles
Two six foot boards and one seven foot, all old and dinged but still good for Bingin in the morning. The bicycles are only good for the shops on Jalan Bingin, not for riding to Uluwatu.
Kintamani coffee and refilled water
Ground in the kitchen every morning, and glass bottles refilled from the tank without limit. We have not stocked single use bottled water since 2022.
Two kilograms of laundry per stay
Handed over before 09.00, back the same afternoon. Above two kilograms it is Rp25,000 a kilogram, weighed on the kitchen scale in front of you.
What is not included, and not here at all
No dinner, the kitchen closes at 11.00 and the nearest warung is a four minute walk. No television in any room. No twenty four hour reception, and after 21.00 the front gate is locked and you use your own code.
Why the pool was not built longer
This plot is eighteen metres wide and stands on coral rock that is already cracked on the western side. The first plan in 2020 was a fourteen metre pool hard against the cliff edge, and a stonemason from Ungasan named Pak Ketut refused to build it. He said the crack would widen within ten years and he did not want his name attached to it.
We shortened it to eleven metres and pulled it two and a half metres back from the edge. As a result the sea is not visible from inside the water if you stand up, only if you lean on the western side. Plenty of guests mention that in reviews, and they are right.
Five years on the crack is still there and has not moved. We check it every February with Pak Ketut, who is now seventy one and arrives by motorbike with his grandson.
We stayed six nights and never once met a receptionist, because there is not one. The gate code came by message, breakfast was written on the board the night before, and when we needed something there was a number that answered in five minutes. I did not expect to prefer it that way.Renata Hapsari, stayed October 2025
What to know before you book
How far is the beach
A hundred and eighty seven stone steps from the back gate to the sand at Bingin. Nine minutes down, fourteen back up, longer carrying a board. The steps are unlit, so we lend a torch to anyone staying out for sunset.
Is the pool heated
No. Eleven metres long and a level 1.4 metres deep, salt water rather than chlorine, and its temperature follows the air. It averages 28.4 degrees from June to September and 30 in January. It is filtered twice a day, at 06.00 and 15.00, and the pump is audible for twenty minutes.
What is the minimum stay
Two nights year round. Four nights in July, August, and from 20 December to 5 January. Full refund up to fourteen days before arrival, half up to seven days, and nothing after that.
Can you take a group or an event
No more than six guests staying, and we do not take events, commercial shoots, or parties. All three rooms can be booked together at Rp6,200,000 a night for a family, on the same terms.
What is the signal and internet like
Forty six megabits per second measured on the Kamar Ombak terrace, weaker in Kamar Kebun behind the stone wall. The power fails on average twice a month in the wet season, usually for under an hour, and we have no generator.
Are children welcome
Yes, but the pool is unfenced and the last twenty steps down to the beach have no railing. We suggest Kamar Kebun for families with children under six because it is furthest from the pool edge.
